Toni Justus,  Teacher

This year is my 30th year of teaching, and I believe this will be the most exciting year in my teaching career, teaching 6th grade in the new magnet school for the arts.  I grew up in Greenwood and was educated in the public school system.  Upon graduation from Greenwood High School in 1967, I went on to the University of South Carolina where I received my BA in Elementary Education in 1971.  I taught in Texas and North Carolina public school systems prior to my return to Greenwood 15 years ago.  In Greenwood, while teaching at Oakland Elementary, I obtained my Master’s Degree in education from Lander University.  The past 4 years I have taught 7th grade at Brewer Middle School.  I am G.T. certified and highly qualified in Language Arts and Social Studies in middle school education with 30+ hours past my Master’s Degree.  I have been married for 29 years to Donny Justus, a 4th generation homebuilder, from Hendersonville, NC.  We have a son, Chip, who is 27 years old and works in bio-medical research.  I live on Lake Greenwood and enjoy boating on the lake, reading, going to plays and concerts, and playing with my little Scottie dog, Hendrix.

You’re an Author Now

I’m writing,

I’m writing,

I’m writing in my book.

I’m writing,

I’m writing,

Oh, Teacher, come and look.

You’re writing,

You’re writing,

Your story sure looks great.

You’re writing,

You’re writing,

To read it, I can’t wait.

I’m writing,

I’m writing,

It’s magic somehow.

I’m writing,

I’m writing,

I’m an author now.

You’re writing,

You’re writing,

I’m glad you’ve learned how.

You’re writing,

You’re writing,

You’re an author now!
